Meet Alice Hornby

I know I've been gone a very long time. My game decided to crash and burn and it was enough to make me so mad that I had to take a very long break. I lost the last generation and a half of the Spaghetti's although the rest of them are still there. But then I ran across the NLC4.5 mini legacy challenge and just had to give it a go. So come on in and meet Alice Hornby!

Meet Alice Hornby. She is a new resident of the bustling city of Bridgeport. Alice loves Egyptian music, sushi and the color turquoise. If one were to describe Alice Hornby, one would say she is flirty, a perfectionist, perceptive, hydrophobic and a born saleswoman. An unusual collection of traits, but they describe Alice perfectly.

Like I mentioned, Alice lives in Bridgeport. She was able to build a cute and cozy little house with the money she had saved up. Alice's task that was rolled for this generation was to delete all fun-giving objects for 2 sim weeks. This saved her quite a bit of money and she was able to make her house pretty instead.

The first thing Alice needed to do was find a job. So she headed into town and took the subway over to City Hall. She was surprised at how clean the subways are here in Bridgeport, and she made a few pigeon friends along the way.

You see, Alice Hornby had a dream. She desperately wanted to be a Pervasive Private Eye. She's always loved watching Murder Sim Wrote and reading Nancy Simdrew novels, so it was only natural that she would choose to become an investigator. But watching it on TV or reading about it is a lot easier than actually doing it, as Alice found out pretty quickly.

She did happen to solve the case of the missing mouthwash; although she had to bribe everybody she talked to in order to get any information. Sure she gave the kid back his mouthwash, but she spent more trying to solve the case than she actually earned from solving it! She was going to have study up on how to be an effective and cost-efficient detective!

She decided to stop by the Science facility to start working on her logic skills. I mean, that had to help right? It sure wasn't logical to spend so much money on a silly mouthwash mystery, was it? After her logic class (in which she had to spend even more money to obtain just 1 extra logic point, is that logical?), Alice Hornby decided to call it a day. She'd solved a case and spent oodles of money to do it, dressed up in a super secret costume for a stakeout that ended up not being so secret, and illogically paid even more oodles of money to gain a logic skill. It had been a busy day.

But her exciting day wasn't over yet. On her very first night in Bridgeport, Alice Hornby got robbed. A very busty burglar broke into her new cozy house and stole her toilet, a sink, a mirror and a lamp. Alice Hornby was not happy.

The local Bridgeport police were not very helpful in this matter. They arrived hours after the burglar had run off with all of Alice's plumbing and light fixtures. And when he did get there, the police officer said, "Welp ma'am, did you get on your knees and beg the burglar not to take your toilet...no? Well then I'm just not sure what I can do to help you. Have a good evening." Alice was not pleased.

Welcome to Bridgeport, Alice Hornby! Hope tomorrow goes a little better for you...

I love the stakeout animation. It's so... subtle ;)

Alice is amazing, I can't wait to see more!

Thanks W! I really haven't played around with any of the xpacs since World Adventures, so this legacy will kind of get me reacquainted with all the new things in the game. The Investigator career has been highly entertaining so far!

Yay! Welcome back!!

I gotta say I like this story just as much as your others. You really do have a gift for Sim story telling. :)

Good to see you posting again.

Thank you! I really like Alice, she's a hoot to play. She almost reminds me of Patty, my very first TS3 sim. I think I lost Patty in my game explosion, but I still have the Spaghetti's (well, most of them anyway), so I might get around to posting about them again. We'll see!

She's a lot of fun to play and write about, so I'm glad you like her too! Thanks for reading and commenting. :)
